Furnace Operator - Melt 2nd ShiftEaton's EPG CHD EP Americas division is currently seeking a Furnace Operator - Melt 2nd Shift.The hourly rate for this position is Step 1: $24.76 Step 2: $27.85 Step 3: $30.95 per hour. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.What You'll Do:The primary function of this role is to be responsible for the performance of the melt deck, pouring deck, and miscellaneous utility duties to ensure proper operation of metal casting in the foundry. In this function you will:Perform various duties associated with furnace, Junker, auto pour, and metal operations as well as all other duties required to support mold production and reporting any issues to supervisionCharge furnaces by use of overhead crane and regulate power supply for furnacesPerform temperature and chemical tests as required by a dip cup or lance and initiate any required action as well as pre-heat delivery ladles and operate pouring controlsPerform a variety of duties to tear out, repair, re-line, and maintain electric furnaces, ladles, and pre-heaters involving use of jackhammer up to 90 poundsManage Junker pouring controls and calculate ratios/percentages for additivesMonitoring control panels and adjust accordinglyPerform utility function as required to include application of 5-S program and area cleaningPerform and maintain various recordkeeping duties and recording instrumentsPerform other duties as assigned throughout the facilityQualifications:Required (Basic) Qualifications: • 6 months of experience in a manufacturing setting • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of (enter location) will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: • Prior metal casting experienceSkills:Position Criteria: • Ability to stand and/or walk for 8-12 hours, work at varied heights, and to lift 50 pounds • Understanding and ability to safely operate hand tools, including jack hammers • Ability to follow all safety regulations associated • Understand and utilize the procedures related to confined spaces and fall protection • Ability to comprehend, follow, and perform moderately technical standards and maintenance procedures as well as apply basic math skills • Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and schedules • Forklift and frontend loader certified • Ability to wear a respirator • Ability to work around molten metal and in a production environment that is at times very hot or very cold, and subject to unexpected swings of overtime (ability to flex personal schedule to cover tasks on other shifts – frequent weekends and holidays) • Ability to work proactively and communicate effectively while working with all employees throughout plant and under limited supervision • Ability to perform basic computer functions: eSafety, MESH Prism
